Hoyas Give Baxa, Saturday, April 13, noon to 5pm at Alemany Farm in San Francisco
Come join us and friends of Alemany
Farm in southeast San Franciso to volunteer for our 2013 Hoyas Give Baxa
event! We will take part in their community work day, where we'll be
working outdoors and learning about ecology, habitat value, and food
production. We are excited to be hosted by Georgetown alum Jason Mark
(SFS '97), one of the co-founders and co-managers of the farm. For more
information and to register, please visit our Eventbrite page here. You can also learn more about community work days at Alemany Farm here, and Hoyas Give Baxa events around the country here.
Additional service opportunity: Minds Matter of San Francisco looking for mentors (applications due April 12)
Interested in a more long term volunteer
opportunity? Minds Matter of San Francisco is looking for volunteers to
join their weekly mentoring program for low-income, high achieving
students in the city. Georgetown is already well-represented in MMSF,
including NorCal Hoyas' very own Naoko Miyamoto (SFS '08). We would
love to expand the Hoya family within the organization. Applications
are due April 12. For more information on MMSF and the menor program,
visit here or e-mail recruit@mindsmattersf.org.
