Hoyas Give Baxa, Saturday, April 13, noon to 5pm at Alemany Farm in San Francisco
Come join us and friends of Alemany Farm in southeast San Franciso to volunteer for our 2013 Hoyas Give Baxa event! We will take part in their community work day, where we'll be working outdoors and learning about ecology, habitat value, and food production. We are excited to be hosted by Georgetown alum Jason Mark (SFS '97), one of the co-founders and co-managers of the farm. For more information and to register, please visit our Eventbrite page here. You can also learn more about community work days at Alemany Farm here, and Hoyas Give Baxa events around the country here.

Additional service opportunity: Minds Matter of San Francisco looking for mentors (applications due April 12)
Interested in a more long term volunteer opportunity? Minds Matter of San Francisco is looking for volunteers to join their weekly mentoring program for low-income, high achieving students in the city. Georgetown is already well-represented in MMSF, including NorCal Hoyas' very own Naoko Miyamoto (SFS '08). We would love to expand the Hoya family within the organization. Applications are due April 12. For more information on MMSF and the menor program, visit here or e-mail recruit@mindsmattersf.org.

Meet the NorCal Hoyas Board!

The members of the Executive Committee of the Georgetown Club of Northern California volunteer their time to plan events for Hoyas in the San Francisco Bay Area and keep you connected to Georgetown University despite being 3,000 miles away!

Board bios under construction - thanks for bearing with us!

Officers:

President: Keavney Klein, N'02, L'08
Keavney is a proud double Hoya and relatively recent addition to the Bay Area, relocating to San Francisco from D.C. in 2012 and now residing in Oakland. During the day, Keavney works as a health policy attorney for Kaiser Permanente. Outside of work, she's a dog mom to her pup Brie and an over-involved Georgetown alum, including serving on the Georgetown University Alumni Association Board of Governors, interviewing Georgetown undergrad and law applicants from the Bay Area, and serving on the Class of 2002 Committee.

Vice President: Meghan Duck, N'06
Meghan re-joined the NorCal Hoyas board in 2016 as VP after serving as Secretary a few years back. Meghan graduated from Georgetown in 2006 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Certificate in International Health. She has been a Labor and Delivery nurse at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in San Francisco since early 2007 when she moved to the Bay Area. Meghan pursed her MS in Advanced Practice Perinatal Nursing in 2012 from UCSF. She lives in Alameda with her husband Brandon and puppy Guinness. Meghan loves going wine tasting with friends, hiking with her lil family, and traveling whenever she can.
