July 31st-August 7th - We are currently looking for medical volunteers (MDs, RNs, NPs, PAs) interested in going on a medical relief trip to Haiti. This trip will be organized through the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, who runs a hospital in Port-au-Prince. We estimate the cost of flights from SF to Miami and Port-au-Prince, supplies, etc., to be approximately $1000/person. French/Creole language skills is a bonus, but not required.
Examples of needed specialties:
- PICU/NICU (or ones who can function as such)
- Generalists or ER (or generalists willing and able to function in an ER setting)
- Anesthesiologists (esp. pediatric trained)
- Surgeons of all specialties
- Infectious diseases
- Pediatric med-surg/rehab
- Adult med-surg/rehab
- Adult ICU
- Nurse anesthetists
- OR (adult and peds)
- ER (adult and peds)
We are checking on the ability to take EMTs/Paramedics/other first-aid responders and non-medically trained fluent French/Creole speakers. If you fit one of these categories and are interested, please contact Elaine Kulm (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further updates/details.
