Organization Effectiveness Consultant – Bay Area

Our Organization Effectiveness Practice is experiencing exponential growth and we are looking for the best consultants in the local market to support the following service lines: Process Design & Optimization, Business Performance Management, Change Leadership, Organization Design, Learning & Development.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Organization Effectiveness Consultants seek to understand the client’s business to design effective processes, organizations, change and learning programs to drive real business benefits. Consultants create and execute improvement plans adapted to the client environment. Experienced consultants mentor clients, act individually, participate as team members, or lead teams of less experienced consultants and/or clients on successful projects. Our Organization Effectiveness Consultants work in multiple disciplines across industries and must be able to build client knowledge and credibility quickly. Projects vary in length from a few weeks to months.

Desired background:

We seek experienced Organization Effectiveness Consultants who have been executing process, organization, change and learning improvement projects for at least 5 years with a consulting background. Candidates hired demonstrate leadership and flexibility, build rapport and can be effective leading and working with all levels of an organization. Candidates must be self starters who can create structure where there is ambiguity.

Organization Effectiveness Consultants must demonstrate logical and analytical problem solving as well as a rigorous approach to process, organization and change improvement and the ability to deliver enterprise level projects. Because client needs may not explicitly be defined, candidates must demonstrate outstanding leadership skills to guide clients towards a defined solution. Demonstrated skills must include an ability to influence others in a beneficial direction. Candidates must have outstanding written and verbal communications skills.

Core Skills:

  • 5+ years process, organization, change and/or learning improvement experience leading enterprise level process improvement projects and 2+ years of consulting experience at a big 4 consulting firm.

Or

  • 4+ year experience at 2 employers and demonstrated professional growth

and Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Science.

  • Training in, a formal process, organization, change and/or learning improvement methodology at an enterprise level client or employer including: Project Definition, Process Measurement, Analysis, and Implementation (including benefits realization plans).
  • Strong leadership skills including a history of increasing leadership responsibility and career growth in process improvement.
  • Strong financial / cost-benefits modeling skills, business case development.
  • A history of mentoring and or teaching others to use process, organization, change and/or learning improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to apply a structured Change Leadership approach and methodology for the people side change caused by projects and change efforts.
  • Identify potential people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.
  • Design and conduct readiness assessments, evaluate results and present findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Ability to develop a set of actionable and targeted Change Leadership plans – including communication plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan and resistance management plan.
  • Support the execution of plans by employee-facing managers and business leaders.
  • Create and manage measurement systems to track adoption, utilization and proficiency of individual changes.
  • Identify resistance and performance gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan.
  • Work with communication, training, HR and OD specialists in the formulation of particular plans and activities to support project implementation.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office suite including Visio, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
